Confirm Van Buren Jail Releases

Another warrant or detainer can also keep the person in custody. MiCOURT warns that online data is informational, and nonpublic material or display limits can make a result incomplete. Van Buren County Jail Records

The county says the lobby is open for bonds and one visit terminal, but it does not tie that statement to a release waiting process. For the Sheriff's legacy office-hours listing, call to confirm before travel. Release and transfer details may also be limited by identity, privacy, or another lawful rule during a phone call.
Van Buren Jail Release Retention
Michigan General Schedule 11 explains why the records path remains useful after the current PDF changes. Item 11.210 lists intake records, booking cards, mug shots, inmate release forms, property release forms, bonds, and transfer-to-prison documents as parts of an inmate jacket. The schedule authorizes retention until release plus ten years. Daily admitted or released summaries can follow shorter schedules.
Retention is not the same as public access to every line. Michigan FOIA allows applicable privacy and law-enforcement exemptions, and staff may redact exempt facts. Public-record status also does not require the Sheriff to keep a document online. Ask for the reasonably separable nonexempt portions. A person whose name is gone from the current PDF can still have a retained release form in the jail file.
Note: Request a daily summary promptly because its schedule can be shorter than the inmate jacket's ten-year post-release period.
Van Buren Jail ICE Transfers
No official Van Buren County ICE detention contract, 287(g) agreement, or ICE detention facility listing was found. Still, an individual immigration detainer may affect one person's exit. A detainer asks the jail to notify ICE before release so ICE can assume custody. When the jail record shows that handoff, the correct description is transfer from Van Buren County Jail, not community release.
Request the destination field from the Sheriff's release record, then use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. It accepts a nine-digit A-number with country of birth or a biographical search. ICE says the locator covers current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. A missing result after that period does not establish the outcome, and immigration release does not by itself close the immigration case.
Van Buren Jail Booking Renovation
The county's building-authority project record documents an addition and renovation funded with $5.15 million in bonds plus county funds. Construction began in March 2017. Work included new booking and holding space, reconfigured cells, security work, roofing, and electrical upgrades. The Corrections Division now reports a capacity of 213.
Those facts describe the facility, not a named person's release status. The jail also lists AA counseling, adult education and GED work, medical and mental-health services, substance-use programs, Alternative Work Program, weekend alternative work, and court-ordered work release. Program participation can change how a sentence is served. It does not prove that a person completed the program, left custody, or reached discharge.

Van Buren Jail Release Systems
